We had an excellent dinner at Le Club Chasse et Pêche last night.Our booking was at 21:30 and we arrived on time, but we're given a rather small table for four.When I asked if we could be moved to a slightly larger and more comfortable table, I was told rather tersely that that was the only available table. The occupants of the much larger round table next to ours were paying and left 5mns after we arrived, but no attempt was made to offer it to us then. Our waitress had an attitude of superiority which is unexpected in this type of establishment.She had long hair which either hung down over our table when serving us, or that she kept brushing away with her hand. Club Chasse et Peche was a wonderful experience for our rather large party. The dining room is intimate and welcoming, and the staff is warm, friendly, and very professional. The menu is slightly offbeat, but in a good way -- a lot of the dishes are clever reworkings of old standbys in completely innovative (but not attention-seeking) ways. Among the standouts for us was the piglet risotto (which is one of the restaurant's long standing items due to client demand) and the "Chasse et Peche" which is basically a surf-and-turf of the day. nestled in the heart of the old Montreal just steps from the city hotel, the entrance does not look like a restaurant but rather a private club. past the reception, one takes place in one of the rooms at the scenery a dark tantinet but which finally fits well with the atmosphere "fishing." one card with about 5 or 6 proposals for entry, dish and dessert. very imaginative cuisine near local products but which does not pour into the overfect. Copious portions. casual but very professional service. brief a good address if you want to celebrate an occasion in an original place or just have a good dinner. ratio quality price interesting.

We arrived for our reservation and informed the Maitre'D that the other couple that was suppossed to join us dropped out and he was able top accommodate the change immediately. Service was excellent. Ive travelled to many places in the world and this restaurant is still my favorite! You will not be deceived, the food is great and gastronomic and the staff is super professional and friendly. The place is hidden a bit but as soon as you get inside you will feel the warm atmosphere.This restaurant is a must!

For a special occasion - or not -try this wonderful restaurant in Old Montreal. A hidden gem this cave-like property has a small menu that satisfies every taste from meat to fish. Let the waiter recommend and you will not be disappointed. Plan ahead! It is small and reservations are imperative.

refined dishes wagyu beef, lobster and veal net, halibut grate excellent one only regrets the noise level, can be we fell a bad night...The staff has done everything to make us forget this problem and especially remember to try the ice cream
