A gem! We spent some time in the region and tasted a lot of restaurants. Some were hyped and snobbish for really underwhelming quality of food and ingredients. Le Coq is the total opposite and is definitely a must in Beaujolais. The cooking was great. It’s a perfect mix of French home cooking with refined takes (ie. the veggies are to die for, the desserts are voluptuous and light). The staff was very welcoming and unpretentious.
