Found this little restaurant by accident while crossing over to the restaurants on the main part of town. What a surprise! It has only a few tables perched out over a stream with a water wheel. Mind the cutlery when you sit down the water below is decorated by knives and forks and one of our party dropped in a knife as he sat. The wonderful Madame couldn't have been nicer and funnier it happens a lot she says! Best seafood salad. Ever. And I mean, ever. Marmite of fish was gorgeous; steak no complaints whatsoever. Service lovely. If you can get a table here, especially in the warmer months where the maddening crowds dominate the restaurants on le Sorgue, it's really worth it. Great food with...
The city of LʼIsle-sur-la-Sorgue is utterly crowded with tourists, especially on weekends. The Eau Coulant is just outside of the inner city center, and therefore less overcrowded. The nice small terrace next to a small cool stream was great to relax from the Provence heat. I was delighted by what I saw on my table after having ordered the Salade Marseillaise. Not a salad for people on diet, but rather a great selection of fish, panades etc.!
