Every time we visit the Vendee, we camp close to here and have been for a few lunches. The food is of good quality with a menu for all pockets. The prices are great for what you get, a full 3 courses from a set menu start at 12 euros! Okay it's not Michelin starred, but good honest food! The place is always full but only opens week day lunch times. Obviously, people who drive lorries know about this place as it's always full of truckers. But don't let that put you off. The owner is very friendly, and has always made us feel very welcome with his few English words.
St Mathurin is about 8 Kms from Les Sables on the old road to La Roche sur Yon. You are always made very welcome by Dominic and Anita. There is a conservatory and a main dining room for truckers. A good choice of menus and a la carte, and always a good dish of the day. The food is first class with an excellent fresh buffet, it is very popular with locals. Open only for lunch Monday to Saturday..
Road restaurant but not just. Excellent service, fast service at a competitive price. Buffet entrance, varied day menu, cheese and dessert, and coffee for 14€. Friendly and friendly staff.
