Le Goeland - Tisch reservieren

We always call in for a meal when we travel back to UK from Caen. Our last visit was 2 years ago and we noted the place has had a make over. The food was just the same, nothing fancy, but hot and tasty and not too expensive.The only bugbear was that the waitress would not let us sit where we wanted to, there was no good reason for this, after she had moved us to another table there was no one at the table we wanted to sit at and then she eventually sat anohter couple there who had come in on spec, like us, so why she had to insist on us moving was a mystery. Still we will be back when we next travel back from Caen.

This is a Restaurant we use every time we transit through Ouistreham on the ferry to Portsmouth. This is an extremely busy venue that serves a good choice of menus or a la carte choices. Waiting staff are very efficient, helpful and friendly. Food is well prepared and presented, service is quick. The set menus vary in price with several choices for each course. Sea food is particularly good. This Restaurant serves a wide varied menu that represents excellent value. I have no hesitation in recommending this Restaurant.

Usually in a rush for the ferry, but as we had a couple of hours we went for a wander.Great savoury pancakes with seafood.Café Gourmand disappointing, but I was just being greedy by that stage.Would have main course again, desserts looked good too.

Several restaurants available if you're staying near the port and we found Le Goeland to be the best. Just wanted a simple, well cooked dinner and that's what we got.

Found completely by chance and a lovely surprise. Excellent menu choice, enjoyed sitting outside in the evening sunshine, excellent service, great food.
