This lovely hotel with its private, gated, car park in the centre of Mayenne, offers ideal accommodation. Comfortable rooms and nice bathrooms, quiet (despite the hotel's position on a town crossroads), with a contemporary lounge bar and attractive conservatory dining room. The food was marvellous: delectable terrine (the chef's mother's recipe), lieu (pollock, similar to hake, but more delicately flavoured), beautifully presented and absolutely wonderful, and delicious desserts. The chef helped us choose personally, translating to English anything we didn't understand. The wine list was phenomenal a book! We chose a modestly priced Touraine wine, but you could really splash out here. Recomm...
There aren’t many restaurants open on a Monday but fortunately this place is. They do a set menu and you can get 3 courses of very good food for a very reasonable 32 Euros. I ate here twice and both times the food was impressive. The prawns with avocado for starters was very tasty and the bread to accompany it was beautiful. I had the sea bass and also the beef, both of which were excellent. The desserts were good and the cheese selection was also a winner. Service was slow on the Sunday but was noticeably better on our next visit. They had a good wine selection and Leffe on draft which made me happy. Worth a visit.
We managed to get a table for two without a reservation but I'd advise trying to book a table in advance as the restaurant is very popular, and busy. One of us choice the 22.90e meal and the other the 33.00e meal. Both had good choice and the food was exvellent. The staff were very friendly and could not have been more accomodating. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My partner and I had a very nice dinner on a Friday night. We had not booked but they accommodated us despite having a large group booking in a separate room. Fine cuisine, well presented and delicious. We chose the three course €19.90 menu as did most of the other couples dining that night. A glass of wine was €4.50.
L’accueil est agréable ainsi que l’endroit. Service un peu long. La cuisine est bonne. Par contre les quantités dans l’assiette laisse à désirer, vraiment trop juste… La première fois que je suis venue j’avais vraiment apprécié mais là je suis déçue… Je ne pense pas revenir…
5* as was the hotel you need to book as very popular with both locals and residents alike. Great food, service and ambience. Imaginative cooking with quality ingredients. Highly recommend.
