C'est pas mauvais, mais c'est une machine à faire de l'argent.Quand nous y étions (installé à coté du comptoir), le patron n'a pas arrêté de se plaindre: trop froid, pas assez de clients, mauvais mois de Juillet, les clients n'ont plus le temps, etc, etc,......etc,...Conclusion: il faut réclamer deux fois pour avoir un panier avec 5 tranches de pain (nous étions 5!). Les serveurs courent dans tous les sens, pas simple d'en attraper un!Y compris pour m'addition, qu'il faut payer au comptoir, et on ne prend pas toutes les cartes de crédit.Qualité des mets: dans la moyenne, sans plus.On a juste perdu le sens du client dans cet établissement.Pour le reste, c'est ok.
We arrived on a stormy night just as Le Grand Bleu was opening without a reservation. They could not be more accommodating! The manger had his act together and knew exactly which tables were booked and promptly seated us just inside the door. We had an amazing menu presented and took advantage of the 3 course meal. I had oysters, sea bream with rosemary and salt, rice, vegetables, and greens, and cheese plate. My husband had smoked salmon, roasted duck breast, and sherbet with Grand Mariner. We ordered lovely rose in a carafe and Calvados as a digestif. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely restaurant!
We couldn't visit Saumur without a lunch at Le Grand Bleu. Service is always good and welcoming and the wine list includes some of the best local wines. I chose the 3 course menu while my friends went a la carte. I was glad I did as my chevre chaud starter was lovely but there's was almost twice the size! My main course was a lovely Normandy chicken dish. I was the only one with room for dessert which was included in my menu, Iles flotantes which was excellent. The overall experience of lunch here was very enjoyable as always, I will be back next year!
We were relieved to get a table as every restaurant in Saumur seems to require a booking. The staff were happy to accommodate us and they were so friendly despite our very limited french, our waitress made a real effort to speak english when we looked confused! The food was lovely, we ate salmon, it was so fresh and cooked beautifully in a butter sauce. Highly recommend a visit here!

Waited an hour for it to open on Sunday at 7 pm and was really looking forward to some good seafood. Well, wish not granted! Business was really good on a Sunday night, service was okay, had some difficulties communicating in English. Ordered a lot of seafood, particularly mussels. A lot of them was overcooked and extremely salty. The other types of seafood was so so.
Table réservé pour 5 personnes avec un plateau de fruits de mer. Rien à dire sur le plateau de fruits de mer tant sur la qualité que la quantité. Par contre 2 serveurs à la limite de l'arrogance. Vin blanc Muscadet de bonne qualité mais les bouteilles pas fraîches. Patron très commerçant. Faites attention vu les tarifs.
We went on a Friday evening in July. We had the 3 course menu for around 18 euros - the selection was very reasonable for all 3 courses and the service was very good - very laid back atmosphere. Would certainly recommend for the price!
This is is good for lunches. They offer a nice daily menu at a reasonable price. I enjoyed les moules marinieres. Staff is efficient and nice. The place is well located in the center of town.

We have been there during our trip. Ordered a sea Bass and a selection of seafood. All was good, staff was nice and professional.
Great seafood restaurant with friendly service and a wonderful ambiance. Good affordable wines.
