I realise La Chatre is small, so limited restaurants, but that this is classified as #1 is strange. Food was OK, but definitely not worth the price. There are better choices in the region, so I would recommend searching a bit as I doubt Tripadvisor will allow me to site them in this review. The assiette berrichone , a local dish, was overbearing with liver. Rillettes de saumon OK, but not exceptional. The oysters were acceptable. The pepper steak was tough it was questionable whether or not the sauce (served separately) was house or ready-made. The local chicken was very good. As for deserts, the sauce with the Opera was not fresh home made, the Nougat glacé au Grand Marnier (ice cream) had...
the silver lion offers a balancing cuisine tradition and modernity based on the use of local products (biomeurette eggs -tripadvisor do not accept the Berrichonne appellation- and cheeses from farms around, among others.) everything is delicious and prices are very reasonable with two menus and a choice to the map allowing to panach the dishes on these two menus. a little reproach: on the day of our passage, the service was very slow. It's not embarrassing a summer day in the middle of a holiday, it can be more problematic for a work meal or a lunch between two appointments. in any case, a very beautiful discovery and a very pleasant gastronomic moment accompanied by a charming staff.
We have passed this hotel many times and seen the restaurant has been busy, so when we were invited by our French friends who were staying at the hotel to come for a meal we accepted. We had great starters my wife had a mixed salad and I had the eggs in red wine sauce (which came with a spoon) I take it was so no sauce was wasted. My wife had the carbonara which did lack a bit sat but you can always add and not take away as everyone has different tastes, I had the black hen dish which was very tasty and plated very nicely with the vegetables. The deserts were nice and flavoursome. All in all a great experience and we can now say we have eaten in the hotel we pass when in France.

Are we the yummy eggs? served warm and almost hard. foie gras served too cold preventing the taste. service always as kind but too slow. This restaurant is part of an Hotel. My menu meal started with a terrine which was pretty bad. The main course of cod was fine with tasty vegetables. Good cheese plate dessert. The bread was stale, the service episodic and the wine forgettable. Kids friendly.
warm welcome the room is very beautiful and spacious, the waitresses are very smiling and dynamic. At the level of the dishes they are very well presented and are very good but I find the plates still a little empty and that there are no accompaniments.

both the menu tradition and the menu of the top range are really very balanced and well presented. The service is impeccable. the end that dessert punctuates very pleasantly. And it's a shame that it ends.
excellent acceuil , refined cuisine , wifi and swimming pool , private parking and garage for motorcycles ! The owner is a biker! it can offer you roads books for the visit of the region! I recommend!
