HOTEL A FUIR: SURRÉALISTE experience at the Bellerive mansion. We take a room for two nights. On the first day, we did not know if breakfast is included, so we do not go and ask the host lady if it is included in our room so that we can go the next day. She confirms that yes it is included and that we can go without problems. Last morning we will have lunch (very poor, that large surface products for a 4-star are a little limited). A little later. At the time of setting up the SURPRISE room, there are 4 breakfasts charged. It's impossible to disagree with some of the negative reviews of this extraordinary place, but for me it offered a strange magic very rarely found in the modern world. It felt like I'd been transported to the scene of a Scott Fitzgerald novel, and half expected unseen characters to materialise and give life to the place. Our room was huge and astonishingly grand, with views across the glorious grounds dominated by 300 year old cedars. We slept with the windows open and haven't heard such birdsong in decades. A disaster... more than ineligible... We are at the hotel with a reservation. We are welcomed by the manager who tells us not to have our reservation and declares that the hotel is complete. After discussion, he takes us to a room under the non-climatized 38-degree roofs and asks us for the sum of 120 euros. We tell him that the reservation cannot be changed and is not refundable what seems to be fun. The latter answers us that it's only money. Difficult discussion with our interlocutor who seems despicable or does not seem to understand everything. An employee arrives and tries after 1 hour 30 to explain that our reservation is well validated. But the one who doesn't seem to understand and...
Family trip to 5. We were housed in the orangery ....suite 2 bedrooms ...the cleanliness of the sanitary is pitiful and we are not talking about breakfast or we were served with half-monthly bread ....this hotel is not worth 4 stars ...... barely 2 ... we will not put our feet there
Beautiful house of character but enjoys too just for a 4* and it is a shame! Book a room for 3 and a room for 2 1 bedroom on a roof without air conditioning with TV and a defective bedside lamp... the pool and tennis court deserve a good refresh... but its price remains reasonable.
To escape .... we reserved a room and impossible to reach the phone to book the restaurant. Arrived on the site ... close the door, the manager tells us not to have seen our reservation, that we are alone and restaurant closed. It's a four and a half.
We spent an excellent stay with a very nice spacious room overlooking the Dordogne, a very beautiful garden perfectly reflecting the sino perigord spirit that we wanted to give the owners and a very good reception and service.
A former manor house with views of the river. Rooms are adequate but a bit tacky. Breakfast is OK. No restaurant service during our stay. No lift. Not recommended
In a beautiful park, the staff is welcoming and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. In addition, the place is quiet and the pool is fantastic.
