My wife and I visited the Marie-Galante spontaneously for lunch while touring the island in a rental car. As it was already off-season in September, there were enough empty tables to choose from. The menu is not large, but it offers wonderfully prepared fresh fish and seafood at reasonable prices. We shared a dozen oysters (26 Euro; you might get them cheaper elsewhere, but not the large delicious Creuses no.2), followed by a mouthwatering salad with five different fish fillets, shrimps and a langoustine. We were guests at the hotel so decided to make reservations for dinner at the restaurant. The prix fixe menu was creative and varied so there was something for everyone. The highlight of the appetizer (Carpaccio de Dorade was the amazing coriander sorbet!!! I could have eaten it for dessert again, but decided to go with the cheese plate (loved the cow cheeses but found the two sheep cheeses a bit bland. . My main course was a Lieu (Pollack with vanilla-perfumed celery purée that was outstanding. My husband had the lamb with curry. The restaurant was very busy but the staff managed to keep things moving. I'd highly recommend a visit if you are in the area, but you'll need to have reservations...
We went twice to this family restaurant, first for lunch, second for dinner. The contents of the plate is good, or even delicious if you choose well, whatever if you are less fortunate. bcp of flavors and a well-filled plate. Too bad the choice is so limited. the lunch service was perfect, which led us to book again. but not that of the evening: a real catastrophe, held by a young master of o who must return to learn his profession. no idea of the content of the wine map (not a huge choice), of the order forgetrs and no excuse for this forgetting. It's a shame because this address would be better off by a more elaborate card than a more professional service at night.
If you want to spend a moment of charm and culinary quality, then you are at the right address. we had dined inside in the beautiful room in green lambris of water overlooking the vastness of the ocean, the sunset and the rocks of cotton port. We took the menu and finished with the dessert and cheese trolley, which is no longer done while it is the best way to taste everything without fear of making an error. The service is attentive and kind. you can also take an aperitif on the very pretty terrace. We've had very good times. enjoy !!!
No matter how good the food is, if it takes an hour to get your first dish, then you loose clients. We are staying at the hotel and had our first dinner here ... but we did not feel important enough for the staff to notice us. The food was good the service not so much! We will spend the next evenings somewhere else ...
We have a stop for a tea break.A remarkable view but then a service inadmissible a service to the limit of politeness. Dit tea room...There are two tea bags that have nothing extraordinary...I don't recommend at all.
The locations was magic, overlooking the ocean and we were surprised that the food and the service matched this. Beautiful fish dishes with top notch service to match. Highly recommend this for lunch or dinner.
Our lunch was outstanding. The room provides wonderful views of the ocean and coastline. It was worth the detour to eat at Marie-Galante.
