To me that's another restaurant trying too hard... All the flavours are mixed, including flowers , herbs, honey in every dishes. Without being cruel I can say that some dishes are like eating a bar of soap... The Chef should simplify his dishes and celebrate the nice main ingredient in them instead of making them look like an over makeup Drag Queen. The place itself is lovely and the staff (only one serveuse that night) although a bit cold at first was nice by the end. To be honest, the service was also painfully slow, but that's not surprise with only one staff and a full terrace to serve. At €78 for two with no alcohol, it was painful in every way!
There is food and there are culinary experiences. There is also this inexplicable luck of finding a hidden gem - an excellent restaurant devoted to fine cuisine, careful presentation of dishes and friendly service located in a stunning garden on top of a hill. All that paired with affordable prices. What joy! I recommend just about everything I have tried in this incredible restaurant, but the fois gras macaroon is really something to write home about! They also have my favourite white wine from Ardeche (with a funky name "Imagin'aire") on the wine list, which is an additional plus. Great experience, will come again the next time I'm in Ardeche.
We chose this restaurant as our "last night" treat to finish a wonderful holiday. We couldn't have found anywhere better!Not easy to get to - just try to follow the signs up the steep hill but it's worth the trip.Beautiful old building high on the hill with magnificent views and stunning terrace.Limited choices on the menu but could have eaten them all.Everything was perfectly cooked and presented to Michelin standards.If you like really good food you must come here.Also very good wine list and really nice people!
We were pleasantly greeted (having booked) and promptly seated. The waiting staff made a good wine recommendation and took our order. My wife and I shared two starters and two mains, three out of four of which were excellent, the other just good. We also had the mojito tarte citron pudding, which deserves special mention. Overall we found the food and service good and the atmosphere pleasant. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.
We are so lucky to have this place as a local restaurant. The food is stunning, both in presentation and flavour and the views over Largentiere are marvellous. The garden from which much of the food comes is lovely. And the owners are very welcoming. I do wish, however, that they'd ask some of their English-speaking clients to have a look over their menu translations - It's a bit disconcerting to be offered 'Goat farmer in olive oil'!
This restaurant makes everyone happy with their amazing food creations. It's delicious food, well prepared with care and attention to details. We enjoyed every mouthful at this wonderful restaurant and will definitely come back.Just follow the signs to find this pearl. It's way up the hills above the old town.Note: I would recommend to reserve an outdoor table so you can enjoy the peaceful location.
We really had a great evening at Mas de la Madeleine. We had already been there two years ago and it just keeps getting better. Excellent all local and organic food, very nicely presented and a lot of effort has obviously gone into matching different flavours. You can even take a walk in the garden were a lot of the vegetables you will eat are grown. A very special place!
We were here for dinner on our holiday. First time we tried was fully booked so making reservations is recommended. Beautiful view, friendly staff and excellent food. Would love to eat here every day. Especially the macaroons of foie gras I highly recommend.
We visited it with our two children (5 and 8 years old) and could really enjoy the very nice food (in menu style). It was all delicious at a reasonable price. Worth visiting if you like good food.
