Just be polite, smiling and open-minded... and you're very well received at the Neptune. We have been there regularly for 3 years, either for a simple coffee or for a meal and we have always been well received. the lunch menu is very copied and an excellent value for money. the waiting time is zero out of season, and in season it is reasonable: nothing to do with other restaurants of Gérardmer where one waits 1h to 1h30 before seeing his first plate arrive.
catch the tourist. come on a Sunday afternoon on a sunny day, a full terrace, worlds that did not prevent the little waitress from being very effective and welcoming!
