We were staying at a B&B in Maissemy and came into town for dinner. We had a good look round and discovered le Petit Chef. We liked the look of the menu and went in. We had a nice welcome from the waitress and as the restaurant was quiet were able to choose our own table. The decor is very nice and everywhere was clean, including the loos. The menu is short, with three choices for each course, which I like as you know everything is freshly cooked. We shared a very good rabbit terrine, served with mache salad, cornichons and lovely bread. My husband opted for the steak which was tender and delicious, and I had the veal chop which was lovely. Both were cooked just as we requested. We had a car...

What a joy this place was! My wife and I were travelling back to the UK from holiday and stayed one night in St Quentin a lovely town about and hour and half drive from Calais. We made a walk in to this busy little bistro and had a great welcome, were offered the last table and ......wow what a meal! We had mains of veal in gravy sauce and lamb chops with creamy mashed potato which were both fabulous and reasonably prIced at around 15 Euro each. We then had dessert of creme brûlée with apple just fantastic, and a bottle of lovely Beaujolais all for 66 Euro plus a healthy tip, which was richly deserved for this lovely place and it’s super friendly and efficient staff..including a fantastic ch...

We walked around town looking for a lunch spot after visiting the market. We asked for a table and found we had been given the last one as three other groups were turned away after us. We liked wine was available by the glass, carafe and bottle all at reasonable prices for good wines. The bread was excellent, the starters good and the mains very good. Service was friendly and reasonably attentive. We liked the different salad garnish with both starters and mains. Both duck and steak served suitably pink. A good lunch!

Searching for somewhere to eat in St Quentin on a Monday night, we came across this bistro/brasserie which was busy with locals and which had an attractive outside eating area. The food is perfectly reasonable - if slightly overpriced - and the waiting staff are attentive. It is nice eating outside in the summer, and it is well situated in the centre of town.Altogether it would certainly be possible to do worse, but it was only marginally above average.

Fabulous. Welcoming reception from the waiter who spoke very little English but we got by and found it humerous. Nice clean restaurant with good amount of tables but cosy too. Toilets were very clean. Menu displayed outside and on boards Inside. Fillet minion was perfect as the white fish too. Very very enjoyable and we will definitely come back. Easy to find on the square. Wheelchair friendly as no steps and disabled toilet.
