As soon as they step inside, the restaurant's atmosphere immediately puts them at ease. The warm décor, paired with the friendly service, creates a joyful ambiance. The extensive list of French wines offers numerous selections, and they opted for a French Malbec that perfectly matched its description. They started with two appetizers: a delightful melted camembert that didn’t even make it to the bill, and a delicious dish featuring mushrooms and poached eggs. The flavors were truly memorable. For the main course, they shared the grilled gnocchi, which was fantastic! The restaurant also has a bar where you can wait before your table is ready, as well as a romantic section on the upper floor.
Pleasantly surprised. Lovely smells of Christmas with fresh boughs of conifirous tree everywhere. Feels, as is the intention, like an alpine ski chalet/restaurant with wood panelling and lovely oak furniture. There were even rolled up blankets on the seats. The menu was not overcomplicated which is surely a sign of confidence when it comes to it's dishes. I had sourdough toast, scrambled egg and smoked salmon. It was a large portion with no skimping on the salmon. The food tasted extremely good quality, simple food done very well. This was £8 which is about right for Finnieston and The West End in general. Service was quick and efficient. Will be coming back.
love it, ingenious eating, great ambiente, fantastic service, excellent value for money. under the flourishing foodie scene/eateries of finnieston this is the new, extremely talented child on the block. with a beautiful French style it is a fantastic choice for extremely tasty brunettes (e.g. picked eggs, avocado, feta and hot smoked salmon with great olive oil or a simple croissant with exquisite speck) or elegant or simple evening dinners for all tastes (credible series of French weeping). the service is extremely attentive, friendly and fast. a must if in the west end of glasgow fantastic location near the kelvingrove gallery, park or argyle road.
We stopped by for some pre-dinner drinks and had a fantastic experience. The wine list was impressive, and the owner was both knowledgeable and passionate about the wines, clearly understanding them well. I had lunch here yesterday on a lovely sunny Saturday. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather. We ordered a salad and a sandwich from the lunch menu and shared them. Both dishes were generously portioned, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place!
The duck and waffles was insanely delicious. And the creme Brule French toast was paired with the best bacon I’ve had in the entire UK. I could probably eat an entire other meal just because it was sooooo good. Couldn’t even wait to take a photo of the food and we ate EVERY last bite.
