I arrived to the restaurant 10 mins before the 6 others in my group. I was told (in English) all 7 people needed to be present to be seated. I replied ok? (although the restaurant had just 2 people sitting at this time). When all 7 of us were present within 6 mins or so we approached again and the same staff member (lady) asked gruffly where were our party and proceeded to start to count out the members of our group .. at this point I said that this was a ridiculous way to treat paying customers so we began to leave. After an odd situation at l’escale the other day where the waiter seemingly had a complex... i.e ‘you may have money but I’m not going to take it, who’s in charge now’ I was wary of eating in la flotte again!! Went to Pinnochico’s as ate here last year and the ambience was lovely and relaxed. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious and we all felt really relaxed. It really was a great antidote... until the waiter asked the French family on the table next to us, in French, if it had been bearable sitting next to the English family?! I’m not quite sure what to say. Considering the location is beautiful you might imagine the restaurant would be great. ‘Welcoming’ us at the door was a woman who was so miserable I can’t believe they had given her the job of ‘front of house’ . We were shown our table, she threw the menus down and then proceeded to show other clients the same lack of charm. The other waiters are nice but busy. Maybe they are short staffed. The food is so so. Not great. There are too many options. They should focus on good pizza and pasta. I wish we had read the reviews on here first. Don’t stop here, find a nice restaurant a couple of roads back. This place is trading on location and that’s dangerous.
We stopped our choice because it was a bit the end of the service. They gave us a table for 8. There's a formula of the day. this semi-day wing of the tarragonese rake sauce with cranes of the island of re and caramel cream for 12, 90 euros. only local and fresh product. small things on the map we took a plate of sea fries and a feast. in addition to the menu of the day. others take the meat from the menu to choose from 16.90 very good meat with homemade purée. homemade caramel cream in homemade apple pie or nostalgia faceted jams. brief an excellent time for the ratio of quality correct price. Friendly, charming, efficient staff, the food is good value for money. One of the more friendly places in La Flotte. Since retirement we have come to the Ile de Re for 4 weeks every September, we love the island and eat here at least once every trip. However, should we wish to indulge your masochistic tendencies then I can recommend another La Flotte estabishment Il Gabbiano where the staff, for no extra money will treat you with the utmost disdain and contempt.
This place has the most welcoming staff, which is a rarity in La Flott! They were polite, efficient and helpful. The food is great and amazing value too. The pizzas were fantastic. The house wine is great and the views are out of this world! Definitely highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
Serving a party of 10 with 3 adults and 7 children ranging from 4 to 13 was not easy but they excelled. Good family food burgers were excellent) , good kids menus and managing to serve all this efficiently and with a smile! Good value for money. Many thanks
We were told they opened at 6.30 pm only to be told when returning they don’t open until 7.00 pm in a very rude way. Not nice. Can only imagine how bad service would be. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great setting overlooking the sea. Staff are very attentive. Food was served very well. People were queueing to wait for empty seats. Formule menu as well as La carte.
