This is our third visit to Corsica and we have sought out good restaurants but this was the standout and stunning experience. Possibly even the best dining we have had anywhere. It lost its michelin star a couple of years back, but to us felt like it had not lost its michelin standards. This is a very pretty setting, with the crystal water of the tiny and quiet Erbalangu port lapping right up to the deck of the restaurant, which is on several levels, relaxed and romantic with elegant outdoor seating. The waiters all spoke excellent English and were charming. We both had the 6 course discovery menu for 75 Euros which it was explained meant that the chef created each dish. He is an artist! Don...
We had come more than 10 years ago and we had already kept a good memory. this time, we came back on the occasion of our daughter's birthday and it was a mistake from beginning to end. finesse, taste, presentation, only success. a service also impeccable, pleasant, effective and attentive. Restaurant met mooie inrichting aan het haventje van Erbalunga. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Keuze uit meerdere menu’s waaronder een verrassingsmenu van 4 of 6 gangen. Wij gingen voor het 4 gangenmenu. Wijnkaart is uitstekend en biedt veel keuze. Hier wordt uitstekend gekookt ; een van onze beste ervaringen op Corsica subtiel , delicaat en inventief. Dus zeer aanbevolen. Alleen een beetje jammer dat het 4 gangen menu bestond uit éen amuse en 3 gangen. Noem het dan een 3 gangenmenu. Ook prima. De uitleg was dat het menu bestond uit “4 etapes” ….
Booked this place for birthday dinner for me and my wife. Arrived to this old and charming area and was immediately blown away. We got seated on the balcony overlooking the small harbor. And opted for the Menu plaisir and we where served a series of delicious and beautiful dishes. Accompanied with well tasting wine selections. Service was second to none and all in all a perfect evening. And one of the best dining experiences to date. Lovely lovely place thank you for making this evening perfect! This was one of the best meals I had in France. It is the way the chef combines flavors to make unique tastes you can not find anywhere else. This is one of a kind! It is also connected with the region's history of pirates. It has a soul. Also, I arrived by bus from Bastia a wee bit too early, and they were kind enough to let me hang out in the lobby for a bit before lunch began. A good restaurant is hospitable in addition to having flavorful food, and Le Pirates delivers.
Really excellent!!!! Exquisite as usual. Service being amazing and sommelier’s selection is outstanding. We ordered the 4 course menu excellent value. Really appreciated the sommelier gave me the number of his friend selling the wine we loved so much during dinner. The day after we bought 4 cases of it!! Thank you!!!!
We had read one or two less than fulsome reviews about Le Pirate, but they were not borne out on our visit. Lovely view by the small harbour in Erbalunga. Good service, especially the young sommelier. Langoustine tortellini was the start dish. Local wines by the glass. Not cheap!
we are at a remarkable gastronomic level: unusual and refined flavors, very professional service (always more rare than these times). beautiful location, sea-level terrace, protected by the wind on the marina. Great dining and environment, until we got the bill… apparently their computer has a “bug”, over 120 euros were sneaked into the bill, glad we checked carefully. Beware
