Le Pois Penché - Tisch resevieren

Our first visit to this restaurant, which proved to be a solid choice for downtown dining in Montreal, on a night we wanted something close to our hotel. The restaurant has an appealling atmosphere. Friendly servers. We particularly liked bartender Mathieu and waiter “Johnny.” However, they both seemed over-worked, leading to impression the restaurant may be under-staffed when there is a full house, as there was when we arrived. Menu is traditional French bistro fare, with the expected offerings. Each thing we ordered was good: salmon tartare, a green salad, cavatelli with a creamy mushroom sauce, duck confit with fingerling potatoes and caramelized Brussels sprouts, crème brûlée. We often eat at this wonderful restaurant. It never disappoints. The chef is very creative, providing interesting soups and daily specials. But the standards on the menu are also great (love the tartares). We enjoy oysters and today was a special treat! Julien took us through a selection of 6 different ones, explaining each in detail. We ended up with selection of almost every one. They were delicious and so beautifully presented. I didn't know it was possible but Pois Penche keeps getting better!

My wife and I went to Le Pois Penché for our 30th wedding anniversary. It's a very decent and nice place. There's live music. We didn't know about this before going there, but we were very pleased. Unfortunately, the waiter couldn't quite understand our main course order because the volume was a bit too high. He brought only one plate of food instead of two. When we told him about it, he fixed the problem. Both the drinks and the desserts were very good. I definitely recommend it.

We kind of happened upon this restaurant just walking by one day, since our hotel was right around the corner, and it looked lovely and appealing right away. We later inquired about dinner and, while a bit premium, it was worth every penny! Outstanding service and quality French cuisine.Though we don't normally speak with the sommelier, we enjoyed her descriptions and recommendation for us. My husband and I had an excellent dinner. The food was fresh and very tasty. The sausage is the best we've ever had. The desserts are excellent as well. Our servers, Audrey and Thomas, were very helpful and attentive. I was impressed how the entire staff worked together to serve the very busy dining room. Don't miss this delicious place..

Enjoyed dinner very much! The cocktails were well crafted. We had the terrine de Foie Gras, confit of duck in a peppercorn cream sauce and crème brûlée flambéed with Grand Marnier! Every bit of it was superb! Enjoyed the help of the house sommelier with our wine selection. The ambience was wonderful and the service was fantastic!

Wonderful evening and meal. Our server was Andrew. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I was completely at ease with handing him the reins on our evening. His dinner suggestion and desert/liquor pairing just made the entire dining experience fabulous! I could not imagine a better first night in this new city.

Awesome foods and staff, great hospitality. My wife and 3kids enjoyed that great time. We really loved mussels.
