Once again on the recommendations on Trip Advisor I went on my own for the evening meal .What a brilliant recommendation. The food was fabulous and remarkably reasonably priced. I had the 22.50 fixed price menu. There was a stunning amuse bouche of creamed mushrooms with ginger perfume, then asparagus soup, fillet mignon cooked to perfection and a rhubarb sorbet. I washed it all down with a jolly good Chassange Montrachet. The staff were wonderfully attentive without being too intrusive. Everything was just perfect and quintessentially French. The atmosphere and décor is just charming. Rarely does the quality of service match the quality of the décor and quality of the food. AT this restaura...

It had been a number of years since I last ate here and yet again the experience did not disappoint. It was such a pleasure to while away the hours with friends as we caught up on various experiences. This is a traditional family run restaurant serving exquisite cuisine where the service is impeccable and the atmosphere/ambience reserved and understated(this is a positive point ,by the way) As the weather was rather chilly we all opted for a warming chicken curry which certainly didn't disappoint. We had a reservation for four Saturday evening and based on the reviews we were expecting it to be very good at least. But it's not.The service was poor. We were simply ignored for 45 minutes with the few wait staff running around trying to cope and failing. Eventually we got some food - four dfferent starters that were actually nice if a bit small. But, oh dear, the main courses. Two of us had steaks that were ordered rare but arrived medium. There was sauce but it was the most uninspired tastless grey stuff. The vegetables were nice. On a corner and with no outside advertisement except a small hanging sign, inside is decorated like a high end French restaurant from the 1980's and the food matches. Quirky and eccentric but traditional. The service is friendly and professional and keeps to the old school of etiquette. I'd recommend booking ahead. The food was delicious, very traditional and well presented although some dishes could do with a little bit of an update with flavours. It's not bad value for money but be prepared to pay between €11-€22 for a starter and €18-€37 for a main, and the set menu's looked good value. Having read the reviews of this place I was expecting it to be a bit like were I was last night (les tables d antan).not at all. There was some smart suited staff and a lady who could best be described as motherly. Service was very professional and friendly. The food was of a very high standard. Had the foie gras for starter served with warm toast covered to keep warm and the poulet vin jaune for main. (Why do the French always leave all the bones in their chicken? ) ) there were amusbuc between courses and the place had a great atmosphere (very busy) you do need to book. The restaurant itself is not so well decorated but the typical massive wood tables are an invitation to travel through time. Good service by people who like their job and very tasty food , we had an asparagus soup and the best "quenelle de brochet" ever, clearly home made. Followed by a mild chicken curry (going very well with the savagnin we had as a drink) and some "ris de veau" that stuff that nearly only french people can eat !(but I am told they were very good).Definitely worth a stop and would happily return.

This is a classic French restaurant that you don't find as often as you once did. Family run the service and food was excellent. It was the best place that we ate at in our 10 days in France. Not at all formal but stylish. Interesting wine list with a good number of local wines. look forward to eating there again.

The food was exceptionnel, the service perfect and the atmosphère lovely. when they heard that it was my birthday they brought my desert with a lighted candle and a chocolate plaque wishing me a happy birthday on it- so nice! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
