Le Sabayon - Tisch reservieren

The food was good but nothing fancy. The steaks are cooked to order on an open woodfire grill. The rosette saucisson we had as an apetizer was Ok, but a nice touch was that the skin had been removed. The rosette (4 slices) came with a little bit of salad and fresh bread. The rhubarb compote dessert tasted homemade and was good but acidic. It came with a serving of sugar and a table spoon of chantilly cream. The fries seemed homemade and tasted like real potatoes. The Spring beer (Meteor) was good but a little pricey for 25cl. The atmosphere is typical of an Alsacian family restaurant. There is a nice bar area and it is decorated in a traditional way. The bathrooms were spotless and spacious....

Found this when we were visiting Schirmeck Wednesday morning market and went in for a 2 course lunch. We both had steaks cooked on the feu de bois which were cooked to perfection. Although the lunchtime menu is limited 2 courses only cost 12 Euros. It seemed to be a family run business and service was good and friendly.

Do not fool your self by the exterior. When you enter, you will receive a friendly welcome and exellent service. When it comes to the food a high end kitchen serving delicious meals good priced

Good meat cooked in wood fire in fornt of you. Good menu with very good quality. Friendly service. Good place.
