We found it fairly difficult to find somewhere suitable for our meal out with friends within the area. We wanted quality but not necessarily the higher costs that other places had advertised. We had a wonderful evening, the food was superb and the service was...excellent. The chef personally came to explain the menu to us, and offer her suggestions. One of our friends is a vegetarian which is one of the reasons we had found finding a restaurant a little trickier. She was very impressed with her meal and could see it hadn’t been compromised. The waiter perhaps the owner) was efficient and very friendly. He brought us some little finger food in between courses and a small drink between courses...
I've been lucky enough to eat copious times at Claire and Leo's charming restaurant. Claire's food really sets the benchmark for all our culinary aspirations. It's that good. Their adorable textbook French courtyard and buildings are all based around a class 4 unconfined aquifer spring...(with records from Richard the Third's sacking of Piegut's Castle) affectionately named by the local Angevins as Docteur de Bandiat said to contribute to the historically elevated longevity of the Piegut Pluviers population. Either way, its continuous trickle provides a Zen like ambiance and perhaps explains why their cat is still in rude health at 34 years old!
I am almost hesitant to write this review, as this restaurant is so good that it would always be fully booked if more and more people they have discovered! leo and claire are amazingly welcoming and passionate about what they do. they explain the menu. in detail and adapt when needed. absolutely tasty eating with broth and brave to start and a little funny bouche too. large house wine, beautiful atmosphere, beautiful little courtyard, fantastic value what they want more, except to go back at night!
I went there in July with my 9 year old daughter. Leo and the Lady Chef were very kind to us and even had my daughter Ana be the first person to ever fill out a comment on their restaurant wall. Thus started a new...tradition for their business. The Swiss man, Leo, provided the best service, and the meals were very good, and at a reasonable price. This is my sixth visit and Have been made very welcome on all visits. The food is excellent and the choice is always good and nothing is to much for Claire the chef she is always available to make sure everything is perfect I have...has some amazing deserts. But my favourite was basil ice cream with my mixed tomatoes starter OMG it was a-m-a-z-I-n-g.
it was my birthday, so we were taken by friends with whom we stayed at our return home. what a beautiful restaurant. eating was amazing, different and really delicious. the it was a beautiful evening and we sat in the garden as it was so warm. would like to come back. not to miss when they are in this opposite.
The food was fantastic and great value we had the set 3 course very tasty, well cooked, nicely presented. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful the chef came and spoke to us about what was suitable or could be done since...one of our party is lactose intolerant.

leo and claire are a nice couple that leads this amazing restaurant. eating is excellent as the front of the house service. highly recommended if they are in the opposite, check their opening times and drive them in.
