a somewhat hidden restaurant in an out-of-the-way street that will take it away from the tourist. as soon as they find it, the atmosphere is chic and yet welcoming. the personal was friendly and knowledgeable, and the menu offered a lot of tellers we would like to have. have tried. we had a bottle of wine, appetizers, escapes and desserts. everything we ordered was good. the environment, music, service, eating; all made for a beautiful evening. I would recommend le serpent to anyone looking for a nice dinner in montreal.
A somewhat 'hidden ' restaurant in an out-of-the-way alley that will get you away from the tourists. Once you find it, the atmosphere is chic yet welcoming. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the menu offered a variety of plates we would have liked to...have tried. We had a bottle of wine, starters, entrees, and dessert. All that we ordered was good. The surroundings, music, service, food; everything made for a lovely evening. I would recommend Le Serpent to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Montreal.
The squid starter was very good, the main pork cheek also very good, the ravioli also good, however we could barely hear what were the specials as the acoustics were so bad that we couldn't hear the day's offerings. The issue of an industrial settings...I guess. We needed to shout to each other for a regular conversation.
Meals were ok ... nothing wow ... but the service was really poor ... they don't look at you if you need anything ... I asked for more bread than I never receive it... we got our plate without asking us for the wine ......by the time we received the wine our plate was cold ... really poor service...
we ordered 2 special starters. the skalopp with sweet bread on the top of the polnta was amazing. the dish on the menu was well prepared and delicious. the bucatini was a bit spicy and not as good as expected. service, eating and weinliste is top...notch!

Loved this place. It is definitely fine dining. Ordered all the entrees and share them with another person. Entrees were very original and tasy. I would recommand to go if you love fine dining. Expect a bill of around 100$/head.
what a great place to eat was delicious, drinks were strong and the waiter was competent, which is rare in these days. this place really enjoyed on the basis of a recommendation of our hotel, des william gray.
