I tried out the restaurant on Gawler Place and absolutely loved it. Great for delicious slow-cooked couscous dishes and refreshing mint tea. It's food that's filling but won't leave you feeling bloated or as though you've eaten badly. The service is excellent and there are some tasty vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for those inclined. It's a little on the pricy side, but for the quality of the food and the service, it's well worth it. If you're happy spending a minimum of $40 for dinner, try out Le Souk. You won't be disappointed! Oh, and definitely try the Lamb Tagine, which has been slow-cooked for six to seven hours. It's incredible!
the chakchouka made a tasteful breakfast, not sure what we actually had. of a man who offers me a data of the fruit, was tempted while he migrated on the markets. He said he had it sounded good, he asked me if I liked it sharply and then he told the cook to make it. I think it was the hot one. that enjoyed it very much. a lot of taste from everyone. came with some warm crust bread to dip into the sauce. also had a tee with pine nuts in it.
This is not really a fair or complete review because we didn't stop for a meal, just some mint tea, some coffee and a couple of sweets after a round of shopping in the Market. BUT, the mint tea was excellent, the coffee very good and the sweets delicious. Best of all was the service. Friendly, helpful and they gave me a free date. Didn't try the food, but we saw it going past us and it looked very fine.
Review is for smaller place in the markets not the main restaurant: Absolutely amazing food. We had the cous cous royal with mint tea for two. Never had Algerian food before but I've never had anything so tasty. The place get's pretty busy but wait for a seat and go with the flow. Amazing. The food was exotic, original and absolutely delicious, flavoursome and appealing. Atmosphere was cozy, quaint and African-themed, as matching the cuisine. Gave a genuine Service was good too! Food serves were generous and excellent value. 5 stars. Definitely coming back!
Stopped here on my trip to the Adelaide market. Super friendly staff and the best peppermint tea with pine nuts. Unfortunately I didn’t have the food as I had eaten already although it looked and smelled amazing!
we wanted to come here so long. we had heard great things from friends. the personal is so friendly and welcoming. the place has a great feeling about it and the paella was amazing. will definitely be back.
