You fancy a really, really good pizza? Le Stromboli is where you want to go. Situated in the upper part of picturesque Puy-L'Évèque, it serves up what must be one of the best pizze you can get in France.We returned again and again this summer, enjoying the seating outside at a square that offers breathtakingly beautiful views of the Lot river.The pizza was consistently good, the place consistently packed and the service consistently incredibly fab. Were welcomed the evening of our arrival, even though we were on the late side (9ish). Excellent choice of pizzas and the wine and beer went down well too. Tried to return on our last evening, but they were full, so recommend booking, especially on a Friday evening.

Don't be misled by the name of the proprietor. Bruce is French, not an Ozzie. His pizzas are very tasty and good value, and Le Stromboli sits up on top of the town. The restaurant is comfortable, but check for opening times if you are visiting out of season.

Poor service, unexciting pizzas,long waits between courses....not a very well run establishment sadly. There are other much better places locally where you can get an excellent pizza...even the mobile vendors do better than this !
