Beautiful small place, guided by a man and woman, just a few minutes walk from the Ramparts. Many parking spaces nearby (and all parking spaces in Saint Lo are free! in the General deGaulle Square. We sat outside on the deck, which is slightly above the street, under a awning, shaded by the sun. For an aperitif, if you are not the driver, try the Flûte Normande cidre with Cassis and Calvados. Delicious, but strong. They have bottles of cidre, both pear and apple together with a rosé cider that is 3% alcohol very refreshing. Whilst sightseeing Saint-Lo we searched hard for an authentic French restaurant for lunch. France, like the rest of the world is gradually falling victim to pizza parlours and kebab takeaways. We found Le Toucan on a corner next to the pedestrian precinct. It claimed to...be a combination of genuine creperie and Irish bar. We were not put off by the juxtaposition of the two concepts and entered the premises. The restaurant is small and simply furnished, the kitchen is actually in the bar. There was one chef and one lady serving, we assumed that they were the owners. Different drinks, including various Irish whiskies were displayed round the bar area. A picturesque small family style Creperie in the pedestrian area of St. Lo. Woodsy and pleasant decoration. It's a man and a woman and they do a great job to take care of their guests. We wanted a quick meal, but no pizza or Mac, and that was just the right choice. Beautiful crisp crepes are perfectly prepared. A nice meal. ...

If you are seeking something different for a change then you will have found it here. You have a wide range of crepes to choose from and will probably find something to your taste. So long as the euro is at 70p you won't complain...that you've been overcharged. A pleasant alternative and a special treat for children.
