This was our third visit to the small bistrot of Hervé Galmiche in the heart of Bourg en Bresse. Service by Stephanie (I believe) was warm and prompt. She calmly translated some of the words on the menu we couldn’t quite grasp and made sensible suggestions about the wine. I should point out that M. Galmiche’s passion is first and foremost the wine and this tells from the sectioned list of bottles on the menu categorised by region. I am no wine expert but the Sancerre proposed by Stephanie was better than any I have had in the UK. The food was sublime. We hadden hier geboekt om te eten op onze terugweg van het zuiden. Door ziekte van het personeel heeft het restaurant moeten sluiten in de week dat we gereserveerd hadden. De patron heeft ons opgebeld om te verwittigen dat het zou gesloten zijn. Een passend gebaar van de chef die in de commentaren wel eens bekritiseerd wordt. Dit heeft hij in elk geval perfect opgelost. We zullen een volgende keer de kookkunsten beoordelen.
We had lunch at this restaurant. It is in a great location by the monastery and easy to park a car. We met family from near Geneva as this was a suitable half way point. The food was so good. We adore poulet de bresse and the sauce was exquisite. Srater were good and we had delicious desserts. Food was with a nice bottle of Vire Clesse. Service was very attentive. We would definitely eat here again.

disappointed by the welcome of the boss's wife (I suppose) who makes no effort during the second service. Don't talk to you very well, despite the fact that the kitchen is pretty good! so bad we won't go back just for that. there are so many restaurants in the town in bresses as good and with a better welcome. a good hearer.
on the advice of a friend we discovered a perfect place for both the waitress' smile and the delicateness of the dishes (the foie gras, the poultry liver cake, the paved of sandre....huuuuuummmm but what about dessert the homemade ice cream? a real treat!!!) I strongly recommend for all lovers real good dear!
Man bliver hilst velkommen af en meget venlig kvindelig tjener, der straks finder et bord. Og hurtigt har man velkomstdrink og snacks. Maden er fremragende. Stemningen i det lille lokale er hyggelig og intim. Helt sikkert et sted jeg vil besøge igen.
