We stayed only one night because we see a dangerous growth of mold on a bedroom ceiling from a leak; plus, found a dead baby snake in another bedroom. The house was dirty and dusty: dirty sink and tub in the main bath, lumps of dog hair in the return air ducts and on the stairs, dead bugs in ceiling lights and on the floors, greasy stove, spring-loaded terrace furniture, shutters covered in dust. I can't say enough good things about Leatherwood! I visited my parents about 20 years ago when I was a kid. As an adult I come twice a year. I was in several different cabins and was never unhappy with one of them. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Not far from Blue Ridge Parkway and Blowing Rock, but still enough to feel calm and private. We look forward to many future visits!
My family and I visited Leatherwood Mountains Cabin Rentals for horseback riding and had an amazing experience! One of my nephews was quite nervous about riding, but the guide’s husband kindly walked with him so he could join us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated. I already miss my horse, Scooter! Sending hugs and kisses!

I have stayed at the Eagles Nest home several times. It has breathtaking views and a great hot tub to enjoy while stargazing. The last time I was there, my wife and I watched a meteor shower from the hot tub. The horseback riding through the mountain trails was incredible. It was a wonderful experience.

I tent camped there for 4 days. The facilities are clean and fairly close by. It was very peaceful by the stream. The staff was wonderful and the food at the Grille was great.
We just stayed there late October 2022. Although the house we rented wasn't one of Leathwoods home. We stayed in the last house on top of the mountain. Magnificent views.

Very nice all around. If you have horses this is the place to come and trail ride. They have Cabin rentals and a campground right on elk Creek.
Beautiful houses and views. Enjoy riding and private hot tub under the stars.
