A friend had recommended LeftField, so decided to make reservations here for lunch. Service was quick with the food coming out in about 10 minutes. I ordered the roast hake w/ asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly: skin was nice and crispy, fish was tender and moist. FYI the entrance looks more like a side door (entering into the bar). No visible markings or signage to indicate such. The door in the corner entering into the dining room is not it. I found this out the hard way when I arrived at 12 and it looked like they just weren't ready yet (not to mention the website saying they open at 12:30). So I nearly lost my reservation when I came back later.
The ambience and service were excellent. Although all tables were full there was no overloud noise. The food was excellent but two of us had the pigeon. Everything was lovely except the meat was too tough to cut from the bone. I told the waitress who apologised and came back with what took to be sharper steak knives, We did manage to get some meat off and oddly found it not too tough and it was tasty. However, by the time we managed to get some meat off everyone else had finished so we just finished the rest of the (otherwise) delicious dish. Apart from this hiccup, every thing else was perfect.
We booked the private room downstairs for my sisters 50th birthday and it was delightful! The ambiance perfect and we enjoyed a bottle of cremant when we arrived and then three courses with some beautiful wine. The food was absolutely sublime, wonderful flavours and beautifully presented. Phil is a superb chef! The service was attentive and friendly and just perfect. I have been to Leftfield before and Im never disappointed. Each meal is always exquisite! Recently awarded a Michelin star, this bistro is small with only 6 tables and serves dinner from Thursday to Monday. The attentive staff and the nice ambience with views overlooking the Meadows to the castle make for a pleasant dining experience. The menu mainly consists of seafood dishes, with one meat starter and main also available. The seafood we ordered was excellent. Our meal, which included two starters, two mains, and a bottle of wine, came to a total of £120.

Leftfield was fantastic. This cozy little restaurant was inviting and charming. Although the menu was limited, the options were all delicious. The food was cooked to perfection. Additionally, my wife accidentally left her shopping bag behind, but the restaurant reached out to us and we were able to retrieve it the following day.
A highlight of the weekend, absolutely delicious, superbly cooked food in a cosy environment. Freshest oysters to start, followed by the trout cod. Never usually extend to 3 courses but couldn’t resist as starters mains were so good. Will visit again, great service also.
Excellent meal in a fabulous setting. We visited for our wedding anniversary weren't disappointed lovely wines to accompany our food choices (oysters to start; sea trout octopus mains; then cheese). Friendly attentive service from the waiting staff. Can highly recommend
My daughter and I recently had lunch at this restaurant and it was a delightful fine dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating when we explained our tardiness. The food was exceptional and presented in a very professional manner.

I visited with my mum on a Sunday lunchtime. The food, wine and service were all excellent. The restaurant is very smart with great views.
a good solid seafood restaurant, with a nice ambience and friendly service. no alcohol free wines though. no surprises.
