I've been enjoying Legal Seafood for decades. I enjoyed the consistency of good food, served fresh, reasonably fast, delicious flavors, beautiful portions and all at a respectable price. I'm not sure what happened last night. The taste was moderate. The food wasn't hot. My companion ordered something with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were so hard trying to cut them with the knife was almost impossible. It would have taken a steak knife to cut it. Also the Iceberg Wedge Salad?? This is a very simple creation. Not complicated. It was just bad. My companion lives in walking distance to this special legal 's. He warned me that the quality of the restaurant had withdrawn. I didn't want to belie...
Amazing food, good service. You can definitely find comparable food at a better price near Boston, but it is worth if you are ready to fall about $120 per person (if you are planning to order seafood and cocktails or wine). The place has a good ambience, for which you will certainly pay. I would definitely suggest ordering two dozen oysters instead of the 'Seafood Sampler' if you are interested in their chilled seafood appetizers. They pay less and probably enjoy the oysters more.
This place completely surprised us. We’ve lived here for four years and never visited because it was a chain so we had low expectations. My parents wanted a lobster roll and the location was close so we went. Wow! Everything was cooked to perfectionand tasted so fresh. The salad was phenomenal with the salmon cooked perfectly. The lobster roll was huge! Perfectly cooked! Ithad butter but didn’t feel heavy.
First time in Newtown and went here with a friend 's. Lobster roll both the cold one and warm are worth every penny. We also had chowder and oysters. The quality of food didn 't feel like it was from a chain of restaurants. If you 're in Newton andwant a close by place that serves delicious seafood... Specially lobster roll... Awesome. Today is my birthday. They didn't have any dessert without any soy. But they gave me my calamari on the house. The service is great. Very clean and neat place. The bathrooms are important. Very spotless. This would be the place you would love to go to. And enjoy the good food they have..
The old Legals at this local was not great, but moving it to the new construction has dramatically improved the atmosphere. High up on the second floor with expansive windows and great outdoor dining options. Food is classic Legals, can't go wrong here.
Great spot for a meal or just to grab a drink. We sat at the bar which had nice views as the restaurant is on the second floor. Drinks are reasonably priced and of course the oysters were fresh and the food was good. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great service and the food tasted pretty good. The clam chowder is their best dish. The lobster was fresh but be ready to pay premium price.
