Legal Sea Foods- Hingham

We've tried 3 times now, because we always loved Legal Seafoods, and we were so excited there was one closer to home. 1st experience our waiter smelled sooooo strongly of pot that I could not breathe. I held my breathe and waited for him to leave. I made my husband order for me so I could hold my breathe. 2nd time, we had a server so unattentive we had to flag down the hostess for bread and they never cleared our plates. We stayed for a drink after our meal, and the mountain of plates never got cleared. Then the 3rd time I had to send my food back as it was ice cold and prepared wrong, and no manager ever came over. I'm so sad that I'll had to drive all the way out to Braintree still to enjo...

This is definitely not the Legal standard I know. I’ve been going to Legals for over 20 years and it’s clear since they’ve changed management companies, their menus changed as well as food quality— what happened to classic dishes like sole, seafood casserole, etc. We spent $250+ on dinner and they served my husband mashed potatoes that I swear were made from a box. And we were here on a Friday night the restaurant was empty and that speaks volumes. Definitely a shame, because this place was better before the renovation. Will likely not return and I doubt this location will remain open.

The renovation to the Legal Seafoods vs C Bar from before is a bummer. The lighting is cold, super high lumen output like a grocery store; should be an easy fix. The sound pinging about. The prices have seemed to rocket even though the food prep is worse. The exterior creative is sparse. Waitress was excellent and the food wasn’t bad, but not good/great$39/44 for entrees should be great btw. Posting not to be mean, rather in hopes someone gets to use this post as a way to make management move in the right direction.

I've been going to Legal since they started as a little seafood restaurant in Inman Sq in Cambridge. They grown astronomically since then. The food is excellent, well prepared, service was excellent here, but it is pricey, which fits the Derby Shoppes area of Hingham it is located in. Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
