We understand that there has been a change in the management although we think same family but this has not affected the quality of our experience. We visit this restaurant once if twice per year and have always been very happy. We don't find expensive...for France but it is not cheap. The steak au poivre is my personal favourite while the rest if my family prefer the hot stones or braziers. They also do raclette. My only comment is that I am always pleased to leave the restaurant without a member of my family or anyone else tripping over all of the stray wires attached to a raclette or hot stone devices on tables .Maybe something for the new team to seriously think about if an alternative w...
We visit the area once or twice a year for a week and almost always have one meal at L'Equipe. No one speaks English and so no matter how bad our French is we can always try and it is generally appreciated. The frites are...always perfect and plentiful. Last night we had filet au poivre. Again perfect but remember that au point is nearer medium rare and bien cuit medium. They Ali's do go fondues and meats on hot stones. We have tried most and all have been good. We highly recommend and if you like white wine try their apresmont it was super for the price.
I was surprised by the very good quality of the food. My wife had a leg of lamb with English peas that she claimed was superb. I ordered my standard Alp food dish which is a warm goat cheese salad. It was huge! The salad had tomatoes, carrots, a bit of onion and two large pieces of toast with melty goat cheese. It was delicious! They put the sauce on the side without asking so I could adjust it to my liking. Our guest had a veal dish in a creamy sauce which I tasted and will order next time.
4 of us had dinner here. It's a short walk from our friend's apartment in Bellecombe. The menu focuses on local fare (fondue and other cheese dishes, meat) and salads. 2 of us had large salads (Nicoise) and 2 of us split a veal blanquette...with excellent fries on the side and house speciality (melted chees on potatoes with lardons). Having been going to Bellecombe for the summer and ski season for 30 years or more, from the days when English wasn't spoken in the village to it being almost a second D language, I wouldn't dream of going to Bellecombe without it. .. having a meal or two here has never been disappointed and it always maintains its authentic Alpine village feel regardless of how busy it gets and it does get very busy at times :
Beautiful traditional large restaurant next to village Church. Large outside decking for dinning. We have been coming here for the last ten years in the summer and ski season.Good relaxed atmosphere. New staff friendly welcome. Good menu we usually have hot plates and cook the...meat ourselves,served with green salad and huge bowl of chips !! Beware of extension leads and plugs on the floor used for hot plates.
Always find this restaurant to offer good food at fair prices. The wine list contains local wines and we enjoy trying them. They do a variety of fondues, brazier style self grill plates and a really good Steak Au Poivre. Not much Engkish is spoken...but we always manage to find a way to communicate. We have been here over ten times in as many years and highly recommend.
Visiting from Breckenridge Colorado we had a fabulous dinner at this restaurant after a big day on the slopes! James came to us and was a super host. Real Savoyade Restaurant in charming village close to Megeve. Warm welcome, a choice of beautiful food prepared from the best of local produce, authentic atmosphere. Delightful.
