This ice cream cafe has one of the best locations in Argentat. It is situated on the quay overlooking the wonderful Dordogne river and has lovely views of the old bridge. While there are some other cafes on the quay, we have found this to be by far the friendliest. It mainly offers just drinks and ice cream but it has recently started doing cold platters of meats, etc., in the evening which we have not tried. But we can vouch for their ice creams and their drinks, in particular their kirs. It is a perfect place to linger and admire the beautiful views.
Living near Argentat this was always a popular spot for a treat with excellent Carte d'Or Ice Cream used to make some very nice concoctions. Went the other day and tasteless, bland ice cream which is probably cheap[ catering supplies stuff.
