The Arolles shelter really disappointed me! Indeed, we had booked 2 or 3 months in advance (about 20 euros per person, or 60 euros) and we warned long in advance (3 weeks) that finally we could not come... The shelter took the 60 euros! It was impossible for me to own the shelter. I sent five unanswered e-mails, five phone calls... the employees return the ball and protect their boss. Very disappointed. If for them 60 euros is nothing, for me it was very important and having booked and warned in advance would have given me the right to recover this money.
Very welcoming staff and very good advice on the rides to be done according to our level of hiking. Quality safe meals at a reasonable rate. Bravo. The only and big hic is the time to be served. The problem does not come from the staff who only run by preserving the reception but the lack of staff on the only day of the week when the chairlift is open and the weather allows to have a superb day (the view on Mont Blanc is beautiful). So there's a lot of people and it ends up catching. We will nevertheless keep an excellent memory of this day.
Being disappointed by the Arolles seems incredible to me. Maybe a bad day or a mistake of choice. It is not a five-star, but a refuge can no longer be friendly. Christophe and Virginia can't be nicer and pros. The restoration is top, local, everything is fresh, cooked on site. I've been attending for more than 20 years and I miss our annual weekend as in the last two years, I'm crazy!!! I hope to find this beautiful place and the whole team I greet and hope to find it very soon.
Superb view of the Mont Blanc massif, on the arrival of the Piapolay chairlift in Arèches. Departure of marked trails. Terrace packed with hikers so we did not wait in the queue and only took advantage of the panorama. There is a bâcha in free access to fill the very fresh water bottles

Very welcoming refuge and super nice guardian! Extraordinary view of Mont Blanc and pierra menta! I recommend this establishment quiet! Profusion and fresh spring water
Very good refuge/restaurant. The water is hot and not mined for the shower. The beds are side by side. Life is 360.
