We happened upon this restaurant by chance looking for an out of town pleasant atmosphere and we certainly dropped lucky!!! Its a little out of town but worth the search. Our french is very basic but we got along well with staff who didnt speak...english well but tried their best. Fortunately our understanding of culinary terms is a little more than basic. The food was fantastic with a chef who obvioulsy knows his 'stuff ' and thinking out of the box with fantastic flavours black radish and shrimp starter was excellent followed by mains of duck with celeriac with flavours that pounced upon the palate divine!! We were travelling as 2 families (9 of us in total) and stopped off for a late lunch here, after reading some good recommendations about the food. Whilst the choice on the menu is not extensive i.e. approx 4 choices of starter, main and dessert each, the food is absolutely outstanding and the portions are sufficient even for large appetites. All the food is cooked and prepared fresh and it shows, and although the staff spoke little English, they were very accommodating and we were made to feel comfortable. I would say that the main course I had was one of the best meals I had in a long time, and everyone in our group agreed on the high quality of the food. C'est magnifique!
Kind of a hidden gem because it's inside the "Le Channel" cultural centre and you have to know that it exists to find it. Yet it's about a 5 minute drive from Eurotunnel on the way into Calais and well worth finding.There's a bistro and a restaurant. I always eat in the restaurant because it's very good. It's usually quiet at lunch and the staff are friendly and helpful.
This old abattoirs has been converted into an art/culture centre complete with circus. very good service, excellent food and a very good locally brewed beer (bourgeoise de Calais). if you are looking for something a little different look no further.
If you eat anywhere in the Pas de Calais eat here. This is a star restaurant at a price considerably less than you would expect. A new menu every month is always mouth watering. The service excellent. Don't hesitate.

We returned once again because there are not many restaurants in this area with this quality. We were not disappointed, Great in all aspects to the point were I actually ordered a dessert!!!
We called again on our return to Calais, is it is still 'the place to visit' the house red was sublime!!!
