A small road leads you to this haven of peace. A beautiful linden covers a courtyard with a few sedans of mines transformed into a table, you are at the black faces. At the end, the restaurant, troglodyte house, sober and pleasant interior, decorating the works of Fabienne Polge. The map (3 admissions, 3 courses, 3 desserts) explained, very professionally detailed by the boss. And after with ease, it is the feast !! that you can accompany good local wines. (A proposed ten)... please! Don't resist! Your taste buds will thank you! Thanks and again bravo Catherine and David!!
What a wonderful restaurant find. As it was late summer and very mild, we sat in the courtyard with a view over the vines and a glass or two of sparkling Vouvray to start. An excellent menu: starters included a perfectly presented Sashimi and excellently chilled Tomato Soup; for our mains we had onglet (a point) and a deliciously interesting calamari tagliatelle; and 2 assiettes de fromage to finish. And an Amateus Bobi 2016 to accompany the whole dinner (as recommended by our sommelier-owner).
Wow, Les Gueules Noires (a la Cave Martin) was exactly how I think a French meal should be…relaxed, outstanding food and presentation, lovely ambiance, friendly and helpful service. The owner spoke excellent English and was so kind to explain all of the menu to us. It was a cool, rainy day and the fireplace was wonderful. This is definitely a “hidden gem” and off the beaten path…perfect!
This troglodyte restaurant is a very good address where it is advisable to book if you want to eat. The boss is very friendly and knows very well the fresh dishes that her husband prepares in the kitchen and which have a light and delicate Asian touch. It is a very nice restaurant open time suitable for bicycle travellers. We had an exceptional lunch at the Michelin level!!! From the bury and dish to the dessert the presentations are a pleasure to the eye and offer a excursions to the extraordinary tastes fine. Thanks to private owners couple to keep the top standard!
Michelin advised us this address... we are delighted! Delicious and inventive cuisine with touches from the North and Touraine...compromised very friendly and tasteful. Very nice home with the weir, under the shaded terrace. Soft prices in product quality measurements. We'll be back as soon as we can.
