We had a great lunch here, and the atmosphere is lovely. You can chose to sit on the front verandah or the back verandah, and they both have views of the canals. The staff are very friendly and efficient, they speak both French and English. They have a great wine list, and we went for the recommended Chablis, which was excellent. It is very well priced, and the Gazpacho with seafood was excellent, as well as the grilled calamari and seafood ravioli. We shared the trifle for dessert, and it was delicious. Best food in Ile d'Oleron and most of France. Very impressed with the cooking!
We found this restaurant by chance during our walk in st trojan and we took it because we had a great welcome and had a great time during our lunch on the sunny terrace. the dishes were very good with fresh and quality products for more than correct prices. the patronage was in small care for the clientele and gave us good advice to take the marsh's walk. So an address to be remembered for the quality of the reception and the quality of the kitchen.
The rating is partly influenced by the restaurant’s location and the friendliness of the staff. The food is fresh, the menu very limited (communicating vessels), and prepared to high standards. Even better than the food is probably the location, along the old oyster port of the town, with terraces facing front and rear. For us it is and will remain the place to go to when we are on the island.
It is less and less easy to find places which combine both a good atmosphere and a tasty menu.Les Poissons Rouges is one of those places in st Trojan/Ile D'Oleron. There you will feel like a local fisherman with the decor of the place with a perfectly mastered menu. Try la seiche or la sole meuniere.Desserts are also truly tasty.So one of the few places which really deserves a visit.

We couldnt get in this restaurant the first tried so booked for the following night. We had the 32 euro menu and really enjoyed it.I had oysters then merlu then a caramel dessert and it was really delicious. One of the nicest meals we have had on this island. The young waitress really tried hard to explain everything to us and we would definetly return
Recommended by locals, at last a Restaurant in a touristy area that is not just destined to serve fast food to tourists in a rush. Good quality food and great service. Highly recommended!
located in the main street of Saint trojan, this small restaurant with welcoming staff will serve you a simple but tasteful home cuisine. a mention for the crumbble that is excellent.
loved the interesting menu and the creative presentation. the staff were friendly although the service was a bit slow. shouldn't have had the charentais coffee kept me awake

Just a really great restaurant. Food makes great use of local ingredients. Fun venue overlooking the port . If you are eating in St Trojan, it has to be the Red Fish!
Always a great meal. A good and friendly atmosphere with first class service. A must for every one of our visits.
