Not sure what happened, whether we went on an off day, or whether things have been difficult during Covid, but really very disappointed with our visit last week. Especially as we liked the specials last time based on South America, where the owner is from. Starter of foie gras was plentiful (2 slices) though expensive (16 euros), but 23 euros for 5 prawns was very mean (for a main course), although flavour was great the only Brazilian dish on the menu. And the steak while generous was raw and the accompaniments a bit lacklustre. Restaurant was empty for the whole of our visit (probably about 50 covers), and I mean empty even when we left after 2 hours. It was mid September admittedly, but ev...
I normally try and find something positive to say in any TA review but I can't think of anything about this restaurant to merit it. There was no menu available and the waitress/owner? just said that there were 2 set meals--it was quite difficult to understand her even though my wife speaks perfect French. The 2 starters (we had one of each) were horrible--my samosa was the worst I've ever had anywhere in the world--see picture. I'd ordered steak au poivre for my main course but even though there were only 2 main courses she came back to say that there was no pepper sauce--it was 7.45 in the evening. The whole experience was very dispiriting and the building itself has no charm or character.
As mentioned before, no menu other than what is spoken to you which slows things down. I had a set meal of mussels as entrée and a steak as main with 0.25 L of wine and a coffee .€ 28. The food was fine. The setting is under a murky beige plastic roof which didn't add to the experience on an overcast day, nor did the owner's slightly abrupt manner. The resident cat was also a bit haughty, but then, they often are, aren't they ? The price was top end of acceptable for lunch
Me and my family go down every year back to see my mum. Every time we are down me and my partner come here for our date night. Honestly is the best place going, friendly, happy and great costumer service, food is always spot on and reasonable prices. I highly recommend it. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
