For half of the year, we live in the “haute ville”, the medieval village overlooking the town of Vaison. We had never been to this restaurant in the past, as it it had a middling reputation. Upon learning that the place had changed hands, and because we want to support local restaurants, we decided to give it a try. It was so pleasant, we returned a couple of weeks later. The restaurant is attached to the hostellerie Beffroi, which has a lovely garden where meals are served in the nice weather. In the fascinating town of Vaison la Romaine, this restaurant has a wonderful view over the valley and is particularly lovely at sunset. With unbooked tables right next to the terrace wall, it was therefore a mystery to me why the waitress tried to seat us under a gloomy tree, and it took some exertion on my part to get moved. We had some very nice meals in our three day stay in Vaison, but unfortunately this wasn 't one of them. The tropic inspired salmon starter had somehow been deprived of any vibrancy, and the other starters were pretty bland too. The food, the ambiance and the service could not have been better. We have eaten here twice in the last 10 days and both times the dishes were creative, full of flavor and absolutely delicious! The beautiful garden setting overlooking the valley just adds to this special experience. If the apricot tartelette or pané perdu is on the menu…don’t miss it!
This is an extraordinary place, which motivated our reservation, with a very “zen” garden and a breathtaking view of the city and its belfry. Unfortunately the quality of the dishes is no longer worth not to say that it is bad but the price is much too high. The presentation is very nice. Only desserts justified their price.

several dishes of the day: beef tartare cut to the knife, top of salmon with gambas, honey duck magret; none of us was disappointed, really good. A price a little high but frankly to eat quality it is not a concern. The decor is sumptuous on the shaded terrace with a view of diverging on the city. restaurant recommended
This seasonal restaurant has a very nice dining room with courtyard view. The 3 course 32 euro, meal choices were very flavorful and tastefully presented. The staff friendly and helpful. Closed Wednesday.
Restaurant superbly place in the garden with view of the city below. Practical menu, not complicated, that changes.Superb in summer! place to the medieval city, high town.
We were here for lunch. We chose all different dishes from the menu and all were delicious. All food is absolutely fresh and home made!

the food was very tasty and the wine has been wonderful. the service could have been a bit more attentive, but was very good all over.
