As the title says "Excellent". The location, the service, the cleanliness. It all added up to a great experience on the coast.We called in for an evening meal and i'm glad we did. We got seated straight away. The chairs were comfy and well spaced out. There was a good selection on the menu. I opted for the 1kg of mussels. Whilst waiting i had a beautiful Sex on the Beach cocktail and nibbled on the bread for the table. The food came and it was presented spectacularly. Whilst i have had better mussels they were very nice. Will be back here in a few months and i'm looking forward to it.
One thing I was very unaware of is that Sainte-Maxime is very strict with their meal times. Many other cities on the cote d'azur have many restaurants that only serve food at certain times, but here it seems like you can only get lunch if you are seated between noon and 1:30, and dinner after 7. There are a handful of places that serve food and drinks close to the water. I was skeptical based on the reviews, but I had the muscles with blue cheese and they were very tasty. Our service was great, would recommend, especially if you arrive at a non-meal time. Decent value as well.
Basically, another seaside café-bistro with terrace and great people watching position. It is a slightly less expensive, and less good version of it's immediate neighbour, the Café de France. With a little more effort in the kitchen it could be very good, but it only manages to turn out pretty meagre grub. It's nice for a simple breakfast, and just fine for drinks. The staff are very pleasant and professional, but the food is really pretty basic and really does need improvement. But Ste Maxime is a tourist honey trap, so no one really bothers.
Walking along the coast we discovered this restaurant and chosen among other similar ones nearby, As a starter we chosen Parma ham with melon for 12€. I ordered a meal of the day with some tuna steak, rice and a salad plus dessert ice cream with chocolate sause for 13,90€. My BF wished a steak with chips and some leafy salad as well for approx. 20€ and we obviously shared a nice red wine , 1 bottle for 19€. Was tasty. The place was quite busy though and a bit noisy, but the staff was very attentional. The menu was in French and English.

To be honest it's my sister in law that researched this restaurant and it certainly lived up to our expectations. It has a pleasant location by the port and that would normally make one, well me anyway, that this was a tourist trap. But not on this occasion. We all had first class dishes , mine were ( so fresh) oysters and their petit bouillabaisse. We served efficiently and most pleasantly with care and finally the bill was reasonable. Here's hoping they keep it up and don't become arrogant over time as so often occurs !
We chose l'Escapade instead of the larger and seemingly more popular restaurant next door, because it was fully shaded and it was a hot day. The location assures that it will always have customers. The staff and food are OK - no more, no less. I think the salads we had were mostly the cheaper ingredients of the content boasted by the menu. Prices are average. Not the place we would go to for an evening meal. Has none of the Ste Maxime ambiance to be found in town.
We visited this restaurant on the main road facing the harbor every morning to have a breakfast of good quality and a very reasonable price.We also had dinner there two evenings. Besides the nice location and friendly staff they serve a good dinner for a very reasonable price. This is not the restaurant to look for special dishes and a nice long dinner, but we enjoyed the salads, mussels and steak menus.
The food is a disaster. 24 euro of 12 small shrimps. 13 euro for a bottle of water. An outrage. Bad quality and very expensive. Fire the cheff please. Its an insult to the consumer. Kitchen nightmare!!!! Keep away!!! Walk away while you still can!!

We went there for lunch with my mother on our way to St Tropez. We had, six oysters No3, three fish and chips, one fromage blanc, one tiramitsu, one profiterolles, all serving were quite large and tasty, attentive service too. Busy place at lunch.
