We chanced upon L’Esperance one rainy Saturday night and discovered a hive of activity behind an unassuming frontage. Full of locals eating delicious simple food prepared brilliantly. We had a delicious pot of Moules Marinière, a whole roasted Seabass and piles of wonderful homemade chips. The kids chose Steak Hache from a short list of child friendly options and we all had a lovely dinner. Really friendly staff buzzed about keeping all the diners happy. We were thrilled to find it!
The other positive reviews here are entirely correct. Really good-value nice place. Very friendly proprietress who speaks English and is very keen to use it. Good food and a smaller bill than I expected. I had Dieppe style moules . Lots of conversations going on around us between local customers who clearly go there a lot. Open Monday evening when a lot of other places are shut. Would go here again.
Not a touristy place but full of local ppl !! We had an Amazing experience here !!! We had a great time !! The service girl is so friendly and professional tried her best to explain the food to us !! The price is amazingly fair and the taste is delicious!!! Strongly recommend if you are in town !!! Don’t miss it !!
Last minute booking when staying overnight before catching the ferry back to the UK. Delicious food and wine, great atmosphere and excellent helpful staff. Really enjoyed our meal.
