Discovered L’essentiel via a recommendation through a colleague that lives in Barr. Made a reservation and immediately felt that this was the right place to have a nice dinner. The chef works with daily fresh ingredients. We chose the discovery menu with accompanying wines and what followed was a 6 course meal of an exceptional class and presentation. We were not an easy group as multiple people had specific dietary restrictions and all of this was not a problem at all. The chef adapted flawlessly. Barr is a small town, on Sunday not everything is open, our hotel restaurant being closed we had th find something else. L’essentiel is nested in a quiet lane close to the center, it has a terrace but we had lunch inside. Food is really good, typical Alsacien dishes. It is good value for money. The only problem was how long we had to wait between dishes. It felt like they kitchen was understaffed. Do not go if you are in a hurry...

first diner in this restaurant close to us .the kitchen is very good , with research in all dishes .the sommelier server wants to do well and the fact well .rapport qualité prix correct . damage , the atmosphere was a little fade , few customers this evening. it may be better one day on the terrace. and in this place it would be nice to see the chef (patron ? ) at the end of the meal.

We have dinner with hasar in this restaurant on a Saturday night. In addition to the excellent service, the meal (Geat menu) was perfect. the accord mets and wines were also well done.
