My wife, son and I went to this restaurant on a Sunday (many other restaurants are shut on a Sunday) and had a very pleasant informal meal. The young man who served us speaks English and was very friendly and helpful, and recommended a superb unfiltered beer in a 750 ml bottle, called Cuvee des Jonquilles. A lot of the dishes include Maroille cheese. I had snails in a cheese sauce topped with a pastry cover for a first course, then for a main course, I had Tartiflette (potatoes, cheese and bacon cooked and served in an oven dish). We had a massive bowl of frites to share. The portions were very generous and my wife and I were too full for a dessert. The restaurant was in a traditional style...
Our second best meal in Lille. The first was expensive with excellent quality, ingredients and cooking; this was a quarter of the price, slightly away from the tourist areas, excellent cooking, simple but top notch ingredients-which haven't always been our experience here. We will definitely head here again when we next come to Lille. A very pleasant and unexpected finish to our three day stop in Lille.
I booked a table at the resterant on the trip adviser website because I'd read some good reviews, they where all true too word. I booked it because it said they served traditional food. I took my partner for her birthday and we got a very friend greeting, staff spoke quite good English. The food was absolutely delicious traditional food at a very reasonable price.
In Lille for a couple of days we wanted to try a local dish so we went to L'gaïette with our local friends. The atmosphere is welcoming and so is the staff! We were dared to try AND FINISH a "welsch" which few of us did! We spent a very nice lunch time and I will certainly go back there to try one of their burgers! I recommend this place!

Went there for a solo diner. The menu is quite small, service is ok The food was correct but nothing waow It is not a cheap place, 15,9€ for a steak
We went there because there was 30% off with the fork. The service was perfect and the dishes very good, I recommend the maroilette.
Found this little gem by accident. Great food and atmosphere. Varied menu and the food was plentiful and tasty.
