We opted to try a deli that was not commercialized/overridden with Instagrammers! And boy are we happy with that! Liebmans is on the outskirts of the Bronx! A very nice little neighborhood, a bit of a drive of course out of New York City but well worth it. The smoked salmon is the best I have ever tasted! Kind of like a nova lox. It is so fresh, sweet, salty but mild. There was a lot of fattiness to the salmon which made it even tastier! Their sides are to die for as well, the potato salad was so masterfully seasoned. And onto their deli sandwich, stacked so high with nicely sliced pieces of pastrami! And they gave some delicious homemade mustard too. Great service, friendly staff, and felt...
This was my first time at this deli. It was recommended by a nice lady I used to work with, and I am impressed. The food was delicious!!! Does this deli sell the Pastrami by the pound? I'm in! I am definitely coming back. But we won't get lost this time...and we live in the Bronx, can you imagine?
One of the few remaining old-school Jewish deli's. Excellent pastrami, knishes, kasha, etc. I had the brisket recently and it was so tender! They are expensive but a couple times a year we say damn the cholesterol and $25 price for a pastrami sandwich...the post meal food coma is blissful...
Enjoyed some fresh pastrami and rye sandwich with some pickles on the side. Sandwich was delicious and definitely recommend. this establishment has been here since 1953. We ordered here for dinner last night. The food from this place was excellent! We had the meatloaf, corned beef and pastrami, potato knishes and babka. Large portions and really fresh tasting food! Even leftovers were delicious. Definitely planning to order from here again.
Not cheap, but everything here is delicious. The pastrami sandwiches are lean. The rye bread is always soft. Their soups are yummy, whether lentil or chicken gumbo or mushroom barley.
