The store owner was incredibly friendly, and he and my brother enjoyed some wonderful conversations in Lithuanian. The prices are quite low, and there's a wide variety of products available. Once again, the owner was welcoming and helpful, especially to those who were unsure of what to choose. They also offer delicious hot dishes, although we arrived a bit too late in the evening to try them. You can find everything here, from wafers and crackers to candied and glazed treats, as well as fresh deli options for meat and fish.
I grew up in the Marquette Park area and as the neighborhood changed alot of the Lithuanian bakeries and restuarants left. I drive down Roberts Road all the time and never new this little store was even there. I just happened to look up one day and saw their sign. I now stop in here at least once a week for my Bacon Buns and Kugelis. Yes fresh made daily Kugelis.
This is a fantastic spot for authentic Lithuanian cuisine. The establishment is clean and well-maintained, and the owners are incredibly friendly. The quality of the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Aside from Cafe Ruta, this is the only Lithuanian restaurant I have ever been to.
It has been quite a while since my grandmother passed away, and I thought I would never find anyone who could replicate her level of kugelis. Nice selection of beers and pretty good Lithuanian takeout food for a deli. Tons of other good stuff like hard to find bread, crackers. Good selection of varied fish, sausages, etc. Little gem spot.
DELICIOUS!! The store is quite small, but packed with good stuff! You can buy a great deal of authentic Lithuanian food. Whether, fresh, frozen or fully cooked they have it all!
