If you find yourself in the Chinese Gardens at the Huntington Library and you're starving, this is your only option unless you want to hike to the other side of the property to the new Cafe (which I highly encourage you to do rather than eat here). You line up and order then wait for them to present it to you on a tray at which point you wander outside to find a place to sit and eat. Depending on your timing you could spend half an hour waiting in line to order or walk right up. The tables were not being bussed by anyone and they were all dirty and most had plates or bowls left on them from the previous diners. So you had to bus a table in order to sit and eat. Unfortunately a paper napkin d...

Walking around Huntington Gardens got us really hungry so we ended up eating here. I was also intrigued by the long line. The items on the menu are limited. It 's located in the Chinese Garden. ::Drinks:: We got Coke and Sprite. ::Food:: From what we ordered I liked the Dandan Noodles with minced chicken in lightly spiced Szechuan sauce. It 's similar to a Ramen soup. The broth was good. I thought the diced beef steak with watercress, peppers, onions, and the special sauce was ok . It also came with a side of white rice. The steak was little tough to chew. I didn 't like the Stewed Pork Belly with Taro in coconut sauce. It sounded good but I didn 't enjoy the flavor. This dish also came with...

The place is located in the Chinese gardens of the Huntington library. Guests order at the cashier and may seat themselves in the outdoor patio near the pond or indoor seating area with intricate architecture. It is really pretty here. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls which was very good. The shrimp was juicy, plump, and plentiful! I was pleasantly surprised. I also got an order of the tapioca and taro with coconut milk which is light and refreshing for a warm day. It is pricier than other Chinese eateries in the area but it is a nice snack and rest spot during your little adventure in faux China.

crazy cashier lady yelled at the customer in line behind me for lifting up the tea sample containers. literally yelled at her, I felt horrible cause i picked up every single one and didnt get yelled at. there isnt exactly a sign or anything that says dont lift, with the type of clientele that make their way to the Huntington, it's probably not a good idea to have a manner-less ghetto lady yelling at people. food was mediocre...the lotus cake and winter melon cake were horrendous....they didnt even get the almond cookies right. overall experience was just ok. rose garden tea room is much better!

The food here is fine, just know you are paying for the view, rent, and because you're at a museum. Almost everything here is fried because it's faster for them to get the line moving. It's prob healthier and at least 50% cheaper to eat a Panda Express.

RUDE. I walked in 2 mins after 430 and just want to order a lemonade. There is still lemonade left in the machine which takes 1min to make and there is ppl still waiting in line. She refused to serve me. Wow.

Bad service and sub-par food. I think the only good things about this place are that they offer vegan options and it's located in the Huntington Garden for convenience.
