We arrived and we're seated immediately. The server seemed anxious to take orders and return to the table several times even though we asked for more time before we could decide what we want it. When we finally ordered, both pastas and pizzas came out to the table within minutes. Doubt they were fresh made, in fact the pizza dough was cool and damp. I could only assume the pizza was under a heating lamp and large that's of the various pastas were thrown together to bring it to the table that quickly. We finally ordered dessert which showed up again immediately, it was a lava cake and the melted chocolate inside was not hot. And the server kept cleaning things from the table. Finally the mana...
We just went to Locanda Ravello in Danville for the first time last night. It was wonderful. They have a great location with a ton of al fresco dining. We were celebrating a birthday. Rosario made sure to make the entire evening a special event. Little special treats, and a few surprises really made for a wonderful dining experience. The food was great. The meatballs are tender and tasty. The squash blossoms stuffed with cheese and the Ragu specials were both excellent. The limoncello dessert along with the chocolate fudgy brownie were fantastic. Oh yeah, they have a great mixologist in the bar. The cocktails are very satisfying.
Beautiful outside presentation really friendly and quick service. The food was just not really good. The price doesn’t justify the quality of the food served. It was way too rich and flavorful. The bread was not fresh. And fresh bread good olive oil are something I expect from an Italian restaurant. We would come back for drinks and the atmosphere but definitely not the food. Very americanized Italian cuisine not authentic.
The food was very average. The tomato sauce had no taste and was watery. The waiter was inattentive and didn’t bring butter for the bread or cheese for the pasta as requested. The tables were uncomfortably close together and made for a claustrophobic environment. The room was loud and boisterous to the point of being annoying. We couldn’t wait to leave. The brussel sprouts were delicious. We enjoyed the artichoke pizza and really loved the authentic Italian crust. Our waitress was delightful. She's recently moved to the US. We thought we were in Naples for a few hours. She was charming and shared a bit about life in the old country.
The food consistently excellent, but it's the outstanding customer service that truly sets this place apart. That's why we keep coming back.
