Llevo conociendo este restaurante desde 1961, año de mi llegada a Cercedilla aunque la cantidad de veces que he ido no es excesiva, quizás debido a ser el que siempre ha mantenido los precios más elevados del pueblo, aunque merece ser visitado por lo menos una vez por su calidad y situación. Emplazado en la carretera de las Dehesas, data de 1910 cuando era una Posada-Restaurante donde paraban para comer y cobijarse pastores que iban con sus ovejas por la Cañada Real y a los primeros montañeros de esta parte de la sierra. Su nombre viene dado por la cantidad de árboles frutales que tenía en sus huertas, por cierto hoy convertidas en maravillosas terrazas donde comer cuando el tiempo no lo imp...

We have always had a concern that because the Spanish have an aversion to tipping the hard-working staff in restaurants it has an adverse effect on the motivation and attention of the staff. Not so in Los Frutales, this place is worthy of a Michelin star. The staff are absolutely superb, the food is amazing and the value for money is outstanding. The trout is out of this world, the lamb is amazing and the desserts superb. The location is amongst the best in the world. We have eaten in restaurants from Beijing to New York and this place is up there with the absolute best....

Un restaurante y hotel rural decorado con mucho encanto, a sólo un kilómetro del pueblo de Cercedilla, en la antigua calzada romana. El hotel, construido al estilo de las cabañas de montaña, tiene 6 habitaciones, y el restaurante dispone de un comedor bastante amplio que se llena en fines de semana. A destacar los cogollos de Tudela, el foie de oca, la fabada asturiana, la merluza de pincho, el lenguado de roca, y el entrecot de cebón con patatas a lo pobre. Los postres son 100% caseros y destacan el puding de manzana y la tarta de hojaldre. Tiene una terraza muy agradable para el verano, Con un jardín muy cuidado en el que destacan orquideas de varias especies, ¡a 1.400 metros de altura!

a restaurant and rural hotel decorated with a lot of charm, just a kilometre from the village of Cercedilla, on the old Roman road. the hotel, built in the style of the mountain huts, has 6 rooms, and the restaurant has a fairly large dining room that is filled on weekends. to highlight the shoots of tudela, the foie of oca, the asturian fave, the merluza of puno, the rocky tongue, and the cramps with potatoes to the poor. the desserts are 100% homemade and stand out the apple puding and the leaf cake has a very nice terrace for the summer, with a very careful garden in which the orchids of several species stand out, 1,400 meters high!
Recomendable. El servicio muy profesional y amable, y la comida de calidad. El entorno: un diez. Ideal para ir con niños cuando el calor aprieta en la ciudad. El terreno está completamente cubierto de árboles muy antiguos, un arroyo atraviesa la finca (piscifactoría propia) y las mesas están repartidas por diferentes bancales, todos a la sombra. Respecto al precio, razonable para lo que ofrece, hemos salido a algo menos de 40€ cada uno, aunque nadie ha pedido vino.
recommend the very professional and pleasant service, and the quality of the food. the environment: a ten. ideal to go with children when the heat cracks in the city. the land is completely covered with very old trees, a stream crosses the estate (self-creation) and the tables are divided by different banks, all in the shade. regarding the price, reasonable for what it offers, we have gone to something less than 40€ each, although no one has ordered wine.
