I love Italian food and could not expect to give this place an attempt. I reserved 6:00. I went in and the nice young lady went to me. The place is covered and has very young servers. It took a while for Deanna to pass our server. She was a young lady and you can say it, but this restaurant gives these young people a chance. This place is Byob so that they open one of the older servers for me the wine. For our entrées I ordered the chicken and spinach meatball combo and my friend ordered the crab meatball combination. When the food came out, it was a good portion size. We both dug in, and boy was fine. I finished everything. At the end of our meal, the manager, Anthony, came and spoke to us....
Come hungry and eat it all! First off the restaurant decor is very cool and there’s something to look at everywhere. I went with a group of 3 and we didn’t make reservations but we got a table no problem. If you want a seat outside when it’s nice or have a larger group I’d suggest making a reservation. Everyone got their own dishes and we split one of the salads. If you love goat cheese, I highly suggest ordering the Goat Cheese Salad, it’s absolutely delicious! The portions at this restaurant are huge and affordable, and the food is delicious! The staff is wonderful, especially the man who I suspect is either the manager or owner. He was super friendly and took the time to chat with me about the baseball game on TV. He also checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal, and thanked us for our business when we left – which is rare customer service these days. It was also nice to see local college students working here, as they were very nice and attentive. Such a cool place! Our server was awesome and we got to sit outside on such a pretty day! Drink menu offers some sodas and teas, but remains BYOB for now. We ordered the traditional meatballs as a “first base” which is 6 mini balls, and they were delicious! Another first base we tried were the buffalo blue cheese which were literally OOZING with blue cheese and so so soooo good. For the main course we got the three large crab cake balls which had such a nice flavor! With only two people, we had leftovers for the next day but prices are not bad at all and we look forward to visiting again soon to try different balls! Great job, Lotsa Balls!
The Sicilian meatballs with spaghetti were amazing and could easily feed 2-3 people. The sandwiches are also quite large and great value, and they come with fries that aren't mentioned on any online ordering platforms or delivery services. I would highly recommend ordering for takeout, as the quality remains high even when you take it home. I suggest calling in your order instead of using apps, so the restaurant gets the full profits unless delivery is a must for you. A perfect 10/10 rating from me!
The owner put in a lot of work on the interior design and the quality of the food. Wonderful, outstanding restaurant. Surprised there isn’t a line out the door. I HIGHLY recommend coming in and trying the mix match meatballs. This place is worth the drive, you won’t be disappointed. Also, try their milkshakes. Better than any shake I’ve had in years.........
We have been frequenting this restaurant since it first opened, and at the beginning, we had to search for vegan options. My go-to meal used to be the gnocchi and sautéed mushrooms. However, now they offer over six completely vegan and delicious dishes. Trust me, we have all tried them.
Nice atmosphere in the heart of Metuchen. We started with the wedge salad and the quinoa and tomato salad. Both were excellent. The chicken and spinach balls were quite good. Nice meal, good service. We were happy, and will return. Same owners as the Civille.
Surprise, great team, super service and great food. Meatball sandwich mouth Do not pour like the usual hard baseball you get elsewhere. Very impressive. Love the place. definitely worth the trip
