We had lunch here just before lockdown 2 , having arrived for a break in the glorious Aude. Sat outside in warm October sunshine, the whole experience was faultless, the food choice for a small restaurant is unbelievable, it was hard to choose we had Tuna Duck for main courses,(both cooked to perfection), with an array of tempting starters, each one exceeding the previous. I have eaten in many highly rated restaurants as I worked in the hospitality industry in London overseas. I can say without any hesitation the food here is world class, and the ethos of fresh local is to be applauded. What a treat, the most amazing Christmas lunch..freshly prepared from the best ingredients, choices for each of the five courses, from smoked salmon mousse, wild mushroom filo parcel, roast capon ham, delicious succulent moist slices of contrasting meats), and all the trimmings, cheeses, brandied Xmas pudding, mince pies, personal Xmas crackers...the only thing missing was a table in the restaurant ! My partner and I spend the summer in France and to our delight we found Andy and his delicious food at Lou Cantou. The food is wholesome, full of flavour, lots of vegetarian options (sometimes rare in France) and cooked with love. It is luxurious without being pretentious, great value without skimping on quality, and never disappoints. Curry night is also a winner so make sure you don’t miss out on that. Andy has done a fantastic job in turning this little restaurent in Couiza info a gourmet delight packed with natural charm and cute quirks. We shall be back every week next summer as usual.
Ici il y a un vrai cuisinier qui se décarcasse pour faire plaisir à ces clients. Les assiettes sont soignées et juste. Avec l 'agneau j 'ai eu la joie de le voir accompagné de 5 légumes différents (au lieu de simple frites à la c.. !!! Tout était trés bien, merci chef !! De dehors ça paye pas de mine mais un trés bel effort floréal en terrasse réjouit tout l 'ensemble, bravo!! Super service personnalisé , atypique et, sincère, gentil et souriant, merci !! This is food to die for...... the curries, the different types of rice, the side dishes and of course the poppadoms and onion bhajis. Each dish has a unique flavour using fresh herbs and the skills of the accomplished chef Andy. If you live in the local area and order on the Wednesday he will deliver on Friday night. If you are lucky he might pop in a little extra treat. Without doubt some of the best food I have ever tasted
This restaurant never fails to please. The chef is a master of the kitchen and presents palate teasing dishes every time. The staff are very attentive and want to please. There is no restaurant in the area that comes anywhere near what is on offer here. Thank you Andy for choosing our area to set up your fantastic restaurant.
A wonderful example of good food and a lovely evening out. Each course was delicious, the ingredients fresh and tasty and the service was excellent. Andy (chef and owner) personally checked our requirements for how we wanted the lamb cooking, and it was perfect.
Congratulations to Andy and his team. We had a first class meal. Service and food excellent in every way. Hard work for the guys on a hot night. Please give yourself a treat and see for yourself!
