Totally stumbled on this classic dinner gem! I was staying near Brown University and searched breakfast dinner near me and five blocks away was Louis Family Restaurant. I walked instead of driving to soak in the rich history of the older buildings. I had two eggs over easy, bacon and home fries and coffee for $11. Solid classic breakfast served with a smile from a young waitress. I 'm from California and a full breakfast for under $12 is very rare. I has happy to tip $5. Heck I came back the next day and had a veggi scramble. Which was awesome, ask for easy onion. BUT the best part about this breakfast was the homemade Blueberry Muffin! It was sooooo good! Don 't sleep on the homemade muffin...
Food is pretty good but the presentation was awful, didn't look appetizing at all , my omlette was over done , potatoes were cut and sliced all uneven, had absolutely NO flavor and I even had a WHOLE potato in mines the size of my fist, like seriously ??? the omette was good nonetheless but i wish they cut up the bacon in my omlette instead of just putting the whole strip in there.. french toast was really good as well one of the best ones we've had, the ham was not great tho , I know it's smoked but it could've been grilled longer , it was really slimy and fatty. Took stars off for that and the presentation, and whole boiled potato. The food isnt disgusting, but it wasnt the greatest either...
Alright, I love diners almost as much as I love great food and this place is a solid gem! I love everything about this place and I can't wait to go back and try more of the food. Be warned: the portions are HUGE! The food portions are definitely sizedfor blue-collar workers who are out busting their hump on the daily, so if you're a desk jockey (like myself) you may want tojust share a meal with your company (nice thing is a lot of their dishes come in small or large sizes, so they've got youcoveted regardless). Again: love this place and can't wait to go back!
What a complete gem. I am sure folks that aren't as new to exploring the area as my wife and I were will already know of this place. I got a meatball sub that was absolutely incredible, especially when you consider the $11 price point. My toddler sonloved the meatballs. He also enjoyed his grilled cheese sandwich, which was made on homemade sourdough bread. My wife got anenormous- and delicious- turkey club. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We're enormously glad that we stumbled uponthis place!

Classic in town Diner atmosphere with excellent food, fast friendly service. You will quickly see why Louis is so popular. Sit a while, drink in the history, enjoy great food and build your own memories. Street parking may mean some walking. Still worth thestop.
One of the Brown University area’s longtime brunch spots. If you go on the weekend during the school year, expect to see some students who have just pulled an all nighter (studying or partying) trying to now recover with coffee and carbs
The employees don't know the names on their menu. Some of the enployees are impolite, and impatient with the guests. I don't like the service. Food is overall good.
Same as it's been for years. Great standard breakfast, especially the bacon and home fries. Love the atmosphere and staff.

Great food in an incredibly well decorated restaurant. $15 pitcher of mimosas can't be beat.
Great diner near the college. Food and staff were awesome.
