My friends and I found this charming restaurant while wandering through Cape May. It was just off the main tourist route and featured a lovely terrace with vibrant colors and a laid-back atmosphere. To our surprise, it was a BYOB establishment, although there was a liquor store next door. The service was casual yet attentive. The food was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, though I found it a bit lacking in seasoning for my taste. However, the desserts truly stole the show. As a Georgia native, I would return time and time again just for the peach cake. It was absolutely delicious!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food and the service were excellent. Louisa’s Cafe is a hidden gem. We’ve been meaning to try Louisa’s Cafe for years. We called midweek for a Saturday reservation and got seated right away. The entrees were delicious and the desserts were superior (save room . Louisa’s Cafe is a BYOB and there’s a liquor store nearby with a pretty good selection. We’ll be back.
This is a long-term favorite I don't have in a few years to last night. What a treat! I loved the new decor (the tables! and the agricultural season menu. As always, the staff was polite and sweet and offers exceptional service. The small glasses for wine reminded me of my journeys through Europe, where the wine counts more than the ship. If you find yourself somewhere near Cape May, pamper yourself here.
I absolutely loved Louisa's! It was such a delightful dining experience at this cozy little restaurant. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, offering fantastic recommendations. The food was excellent as well. Be sure to save room for dessert, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. Excellent food, as I remember, and highly recommended by my guest house hosts, who knew it well. But that was 20 years ago and more, and I can no longer remember details of the meal, except that it was excellent. What I do remember, however, is that we needed to make a reservation when reservations were first taken on Tuesday, in order to be sure of a spot by Friday or Saturday.
The restaurant is cute. I recommend the flounder as an Entree. I’m not a big fan of all the sauces that go on the flounder, but it depends on what you like. I like squeezing the lemon that comes with it onto the flounder. The Louise’s Chocolate Pie is my favorite dessert in Cape May. I recommend that you try the restaurant.
Super delicious locally sourced food. All menu items written on the black board. Friendly and helpful staff. Reservations recommended (it's a small space). Don't forget dessert they own the chocolate shop next door and the desserts are wonderful.
